Today, Sunday January 26, 2020, Catholics throughout the United States of America are celebrating WORD OF GOD Sunday. In every diocese and parish, the most suitable and effective ways have been planned to live this Sunday in such a way as to help the People of God grow in religious and intimate familiarity with the Sacred Scriptures.

Inspired by a message from Pope Francis, the ST PAULS Biblical Center of the USA, in collaboration with the Community of Paulines in Canfield, Ohio, has chosen to enhance the SUNDAY OF THE WORD by making possible free of charge a copy of the Alba House Gospels to all who attend the two Masses of this local community. In these Masses celebrated at 7:00 am and 10 am and televised by CTNY (the Catholic Television Network of Youngstown), Father Edmund Lane and Father Matthew Roehrig stressed in their homilies the importance of knowing, reading and meditating on the Sacred Text each day, in addition to a clear and complete explanation of the "places" of the Word on the altar of the church.

Those who accept these copies of Sacred Scripture take on the responsibility to carefully read, meditate and transmit the word of God with their own words and works each day. Fruit of the apostolate of the Society of St. Paul, great help in the distribution of these Gospels was provided by Friends of the Community and by the local Council of the Knights of Columbus.
