Saint Paul Seminary Foundation (SPSF) in Silang, Cavite, marked the start of its new Academic Year (2024-2025) with a solemn Mass invoking the guidance of the Holy Spirit. The event took place at the seminary chapel of the Conversion of St. Paul, attended by seminarians, religious women enrollees, guest students, rectors, superiors, formators, faculty, and staff of SPSF.

The main celebrant was Mass Fr. Micha Miguel Competente, SSP, with Fr. Norman Melchor Pena Jr., SSP giving the homily. Concelebrating priests were the SSP formators, and seminary rectors Fr. Julius Chelanga, SMA and Fr. Jickson Joseph, MSFS. In addition to St. Paul seminarians, enrollees are from the Daughters of St. Paul, Pastorelle Sisters, Society of African Missions, and Missionaries of St. Francis de Sales.

In his homily, Fr. Norman highlighted the primary objective of Catholic education: forming students not only to become good Christians but also become saints, as pointed out by Blessed James Alberione. True education transcends mere acquisition of knowledge; it aims at total transformation of the person, as contained in SPSF’s vision and mission.

A shared lunch for all the staff and students of SPSF followed, highlighting the unity of hearts which the Holy Spirit always brings.
